Windows update not connecting to internet??

I have a problem with windows update.... i get an error 80072EE2, meaning connection not found. I am on a wireless connection, and my other windows 7 computer updates just fine. I'm thinking its a virus that neither microsoft security essentials or MBAM couldnt pick up...
what could be the source of the problem? I tried everything microsoft offered, but no luck...

PS: I have otl results if you wanna see those... just installed it TODAY.

Do you use a router ?

Run OTL
  • Under the Custom Scans/Fixes box at the bottom, paste in the following

  • Then click the Run Fix button at the top
  • Let the program run unhindered, reboot the PC when it is done

When finished, it shall produce a log for you.  Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply.

I use Windows Security essentials...

BTW What is "KCS - Downloader"? I saw this icon in my system tray tonight

The process is KCSDownloadV3Tray.exe .

I have windows 7. I opened the url, windows update said "Windows Update is included in Control Panel. In the future, to check for updates (or if this webpage doesn’t open Windows Update automatically):
  Click the Start button, click All Programs, and then click Windows Update.

Windows update opened automatically.

Clicked "Check for updates", and still spat out a 80072EE2.

That error refers to updates being blocked by a firewall

Do you use a router ?

I use someone else's wireless connection.... two other laptops connect to the same wireless network and they download updates just fine....
