2. Click on account setting
3. Go to account security
4. Click Change
5. Tick Secure Browsing (https)
6. Click save

edit: no matter whether you like it or not, just stating the obvious, FB must be as secure as possible, period.

Well having all your connections as https, doesn't necessarily make it more secure.

If this measure is across the board all links and not just for logon-on, account settings, etc. Then the https connection prevents avast form scanning the traffic with the web shield, which could leave you less well protected.

Exactly. I think about this every time I open a https website, and always try to load a http version of it. Its very hard to take a decision on this.

Yes, but that doesn't stop the connection to valid links which have either been hacked or were malicious in any case; there are many such scams on facebook and other social networking sites and using https isn't going to stop that.

I have several friends on Facebook plus my daughter and husband and my grandson that live a long way away from me so I have to use Facebook.

Bill Pytlovany of WinPatrol fame uses Facebook!

But you don't require a facebook account to view materiel only if you are going to post it. You could also use Skype to communicate.
