hello all
i have been using avast the free edition for some time now and frankly it is the best free antivirus program out there
but wierd thing happened lately
one day i started my pc and found all avast shields are off and tries to re-enable them with no response from the program
also i realized my pc run very slow a friend suggested that i look for IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers from device manager
and see if it run in ultra mode or pio and i found it in pio mode so looking for a solution through internet i found how to revert it to Ultra DMA mode after restart the pc i tried to uninstall avast with no success i used your uninstaller and no response so i went and formatted my pc after installing the drivers and successfully re-installed Avast and after it updates
itself suddenly the pc start to run very slow again i chicked the IDE controllers and it was set to pio mode again i revert it to ultra DMA and restarted the pc it came back with avast shield off again and i cant uninstall the program.
i dont know what happening and appreciate any help i really like avast .
