Just renewed license for another year but.....

...new expiry date is 1 year from purchase, not 1 year from expiry of current license.
I am losing about about 1 month of time.

Plz advise on a solution.

When did you renew ?

Did you renew from the avastUI ?
As that function should take account of the time remaining and add it to the new expiry date.

I got a big red box to remind me.
I used the "Renew now" button on the subscription screen.
The next screen says "Renew now and save 30%".

I think I did it right

When I goto insert license file the confirmation box says expiry 1 year from today.
I cancelled the action and came here to ask for advice.

If you do it through the AvastUI, Maintenance, Registration (not sure if that is the same in the Pro/AIS version) it should carry forward your remaining license period.

I don't know if in getting the 30% discount offer if you were still within the above area.

If you have completed the transaction - Try contacting sales (at) avast (dot) com, with the details, what you have said here and any additional information, old expiry date, transaction reference/date, email address, etc.

Hopefully they will be able to send you a corrected license file.

On the other hand i suppose you could wait to renew until the day your current license expires then insert the new license file. That way it will give you a year from that date.

TechDude, what price does the 30% off give you?  If it's 30% off the standard rate (49.99 dollars or pounds) then losing a month might be a good deal!  Best I can get is 10% off for renewal via their endless prompts (see recent thread under General topics).

Strange:

When I renewed thru the GUI back in July for two more years my new license extended from the Aug 24th expiration date of my old license.

Next time when you are prompted for renew, DO NOT renew at once, skip the warning mesage until the last day.

Since you have told avast, I wish they can help.
