I've noticed option "Don't use Chrome as default browser for avast! under troubleshooting page. What exactly it's meant by this?

That was brought in in a previous version I think...Basically if chrome is installed (after the offer) then avast will use it rather than the default browser (if something else) Untick it to prevent that.

And some words about the Russian translation. The English "More details..." is translated as "Развернуть..." but the Russian word "развернуть" means "to expand" in English. The right translation would be "Подробнее...". Please, correct the translation on all pop-ups.

Well, I could change the text - but I am not going to "split" the particular string at the moment. It means that the same change would occur even in the other places where "More details..." is used. Also, I'd need the translation for the reverse ("Fewer details") to make it consistent.

yep.. seeing after a restart of the system that the web shield is now scanning any http traffic, stuff the network shield always scanned, but not in the same way obviously.

Vlk, I've posted Outlook issues and get no answer... So the popup issue arose...
By the way, disabled into avast setting now.

Tried the script shield with Firefox 7 Beta 2 no sight of any activity...
Neither I have on Firefox Nightly 9.0a1  :(

Thanks to all for your advice. I uninstalled v6.0.1273 and reinstalled it. Everything works properly now. Doing an upgrade did not work.

wow >>> script shield works like a charm on Firefox 6.0, scanning hundreds of files in my profile, never saw it work that way in IE?  ;D

edit: now expecting a Chrome coverage ASAP ;-)

just one thing, the script shield seems indeed to scan properly as I browse in Firefox, but it always ends up re-scanning lastpass.js ... wouldn't mind excluding it but as you know there's no settings for the script shield, and no *.ini file that I can find. And actually may be it's better to get lp scanned each time? yes? no? ... on a side note, does the script shield protect against CSS? thx.

Could you please have a look at this issue to see if you can fix in the upcoming release?

Updated from v6.0.1270 via AvastUI to 6.0.1273.  Ran a Quick Scan after allowing restart.  Everything seems to be fine.  Thanks for the hard work of the Avast team.

Evidently, the <em:maxVersion>*</em:maxVersion> line in C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast5\WebRep\FF\install.rdf allows WebRep to be compatible with all future versions of Firefox.  At any rate, it's currently working fine with Firefox 6 and several other extensions I have installed. 8)
