I learned about a utility called JumpControl which adds some power options to the Windows 8 taskbar. I have not used Windows 8 or the program but since I know some people are using Windows 8 I decided to post this.

Sorry, but it makes no sense to me to install something that's already available within Windows 8.
simply hit the CTRL Alt Del key combo and then select the shutdown option which gives you all the options this utility does.

I think that would be nice to have since Win 8 has no readily accessible shutdown procedure. Hitting ctrl-alt-delete in Windows has always brought up task manager which has the shutdown options but that is a very convoluted way of doing it in my opinion. Shutdown should be directly available from the desktop interface.

Simple answer, it isn't so you either use what's available or learn something new or, find alternatives.
A start button should also be there according to many of us but it isn't so you either
learn to live without it or, use a utility like Classic Shell to bring it back.
If you choose the latter, you restore everything including "shut down" and, still have the "Metro Desktop" when you want to use it.

I presume that you need an XBox in order to use this.

I did some research and it seems to me that isn't the case. I looked at the English Wikipedia article, and I didn't see anything saying that an Xbox 360 is required. I also looked at some results on Google Search and didn't see anything saying one is required either.

So where is the app???  (program)

It's an Xbox application not a windows 8 application other than the fact that it allows you to transfer from Win8 to the Xbox.

I have done some research and I don't think it has been released yet. I wouldn't be surprised if Microsoft is waiting until the final version of Windows 8 is released.

I found something explaining how to enable the Hibernate option in Windows 8. I have not looked at every post in this thread so if this has already been covered before I think that would be the reason why.

The final version has been released just not to the general public.
(That will happen in October.)

To clarify, that's what I meant. I knew it had been released to manufacturing already and that it would be released to the general public in October. As for your screenshot I think that's cool.
