Hello JBG,
I use BPP and information you need are below:
1. XP Pro SP 2
2. update from version is 1.0.x to version 1.1.x
3. Latest Chrome, IE8, latest Firefox
4. http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=86484.0
5. http://<computername>/avast | https://<computername>:8732/avast
Ok, it seems you are trying everything :-). Lets suppose your server hostname is
hostname.local. If I understand correctly, you are able to access admin. console (ADC) via
http://hostname.local/Avast from the computer the console is installed on, but unable to access the same URL from any other remote computer, am I right? Let's focus on Firefox. When accessing ADC using the mentioned URL (from the local computer), do you see something like the pic in attachment?
And when accessing from the remote PC, do you see something similar? I'm interested in that
Technical details part which lists the reason of rejection. The problem with self-signed certificates is that you have to manually validate (confirm) them. But obviously, you don't have the option to manually confirm the cert (
Add exception, in terms of Firefox) and access the site. And we have to find why :-).
And if we focus on Chrome and the link you provided. There is a small lock icon with a red cross on it, just click it and you will get some info about the SSL cert in use. Could you either place here or PM me screenshots of the certificate details you will find there? Thx. Jan.
