Hi spi,
have you updated the link in client?
The link must be http://NAMESERVER.DOMAIN.local/Avast
Or try to use Firefox to access into console and add a security exception.

Have you tried to reboot che PC with installed BPP console?

Or... try to uninstall and reinstall the console if you have installed over the old one...

I too am having the same issue. When I access https://BP_CONSOLE_IP:8732 on the server that is running BP, I receive the certificate error and even adding an exception does not resolve the issue. When I access the link from an external computer on the same network I receive 'Requested content was not found' and this error is independent of the browser.

So far I have tried:

  • Adding an exception in Firefox
  • Using the 'restore' command with Avast.Sbc.ServiceUtil.exe and then running 'restart' flag

My next step will be to do a fresh install of the console unless one of you very intelligent community members can provide me with another clever idea.

@P3iSystems
Have you tried..

I guess this problem is on Multiple SSL Port on IIS configuration, after I try access the console from http://<console host name>/avast/services.aspx the page shown is login page and I can login to console.
you can tried access the console from the http port.

Is your Console version 1.1.131.7?

Please try to use official avast! Administration Console address which is http://hostname/Avast or http://hostname/Avast/Default.aspx (please use the correct hostname of your server) and post here what happened. The system will internally redirect you to something like https://hostname:8732/Console but that redirection should be considered internal and shouldn't be used directly. Also please verrify that your are using the newet 1.1.131.7 build of the avast! Administration Console.

Thx. Jan

I have problem access BPP console from others computer after upgrade the console to version 1.1.131.7

the message error on browser is "Invalid Server Certificate"

Hello SPI,
we will try to reproduce this, to be able to do so, please tell us a few more infos:
  • The OS version of the server
  • Did you perform update from older version of avast! Administration Console or fresh new installation?
  • The browser you are using
  • The details about error provided by the browser (it seems that Firefox and Chrome are much more verbose than IE in this area)
  • The URL you are using to access the console
Thx. Jan.

Ok, it seems you are trying everything :-). Lets suppose your server hostname is hostname.local. If I understand correctly, you are able to access admin. console (ADC) via http://hostname.local/Avast from the computer the console is installed on, but unable to access the same URL from any other remote computer, am I right? Let's focus on Firefox. When accessing ADC using the mentioned URL (from the local computer), do you see something like the pic in attachment?

And when accessing from the remote PC, do you see something similar? I'm interested in that Technical details part which lists the reason of rejection. The problem with self-signed certificates is that you have to manually validate (confirm) them. But obviously, you don't have the option to manually confirm the cert (Add exception, in terms of Firefox) and access the site. And we have to find why :-).

And if we focus on Chrome and the link you provided. There is a small lock icon with a red cross on it, just click it and you will get some info about the SSL cert in use. Could you either place here or PM me screenshots of the certificate details you will find there? Thx. Jan.

SPI I have a sidenote, you said the server OS is Windows XP SP2, how did you managed to install AC on that OS? The installer should reject you at the very beginning as only Windows XP SP3 (latest SP) is supported. I'm trying to find if the cert. rejection may be related the OS version. Thx. Jan.

Nothing mentioned in this topic has worked for me so far.

OS: Server 2003 SP2
BP: Latest version

I'm presented with the invalid certificate error.

And your error P3iSystems? Chrome or Firefox should say more as I described previously. Is it the same This certificate has a nonvalid digital signature? Thx. Jan.
