I suggest an installation from scratch:

1. Download the latest version of avast! Uninstall Utility and save it.
2. Download the latest avast! version and save it.
3. Uninstall avast from Control Panel (if possible). If, for any reason, you can't run it, try booting in Safe Mode and doing it from there. Anyway, boot after that.
4. Run the avast! Uninstall Utility saved on 1. If, for any reason, you can't run it, try booting in Safe Mode and doing it from there. Anyway, boot after you've run it.
5. Install avast! using the setup saved on 2. Boot.
6. Register your free copy or add the license key for Pro. Or even upgrade your key from old versions.
7. Check and post the results. If, for any reason, you did not solve, try doing the step 3 in Safe Mode anyway.

I haven't tested it myself, but you may try:

Code: [Select]
www.tweaking.com/content/page/repair_windows_sidebargadgets.html

If there is additional info about it in that page, read it before running it.

DISCLAIMER: I am not specifically recommending it, I have not used it, and I have (or had) no relation at all to that product or company. It's up to you and it's your responsibility.

mr-snappy, I need to think a solution... Most probably it will be in the gadgets and not in avast. But I do not have experience with that and I do not use gadgets myself. Sorry. Hope someone else with more knowledge could help.

I use the gadgets on my Windows 7 system.

The confusing thing to me is that I do not have an avast! icon on my Desktop but I do have one in the Taskbar.

Finally got it to work  ;D ;D ;D its fix`d ..

its not a perfect way, but this is my fix!!!

1.Click the Start button , click All Programs, right-click the Start up folder, and then click Open.

2.Open the location that contains the avast icon to which you want to create a shortcut.

3.Right-click the item, and then click Create Shortcut. The new shortcut appears in the same location as the original item.

4.Drag the shortcut into the Start up folder.

The next time you start Windows, the program will run automatically.

thanks every one for all your help and time...

Your workaround may seem to work for you, but it is just a visual effect IMHO. Avast is not starting as it should, so for part of the booting process, you are not protected. During that period, "anything" can happen, so when Avast finally seems to work, it might have missed something (hidding).

I'm not saying that you currently have some malware, but anyway I would suggest trying to "really" solve the real source of the problem.
