Actually this thread references a number of problems, not just any specific one, so I don't think his post is completely irrelevant.
Well as his reply was intended for this poster http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=93866.msg754424#msg754424 it is completely irrelevent since the fix has nothing to do with that issue.

yes but my point is that there is more than one problem being discussed in the thread and somebody new might find value in what he posted if they didn't know about the fix. That's why I said not completely irrelevant. It could be relevant to the overall thread topic if not to any particular post. He does seem to be spamming the same thing around in other topics though. I'll concede that point.

Let's face it Avast 7 so far is a disaster from users experiencing many issues with their PC's, problems with updates like Comodo had a while back...

I am also having issues with my PC - rock stable and very very fast before v7 - after updating to v7. Seems to stutter a bit and today on boot, windows firewall did not start. I had to shutdown and re-start. Please fix asap, avast team.

Well avast doesn't attempt to control the windows firewall. In fact if you had the Avast Security Suite, which has its own firewall even that doesn't disable the windows firewall as it is designed to be compatible with it.

So I believe this is an unfortunate coincidence. If you have any other issues you want to discuss, then create a new topic so it can be resolved without being lost within this massive topic.

Hello, I can't stand people who usually ask for software release date, however (sorry) I read in one of the past comments that Avast Team is going to release an update to the current v7.0.1407 in the next few days - Now I'm wondering if that was just a sort of rumor... I'm asking the users, perhaps one of them knows more, since I haven't checked all the threads.

I'm going to re-install or fix Avast7 on a couple of friends' systems  this weekend and I would wait a little more if a new version update is coming...

Thanks in advance

Hi guys,

We have just released the final version of avast 7, version number 7.0.1407.

List of most important changes:
http://www.avast.com/en-us/release-history

Direct download links (before the partner sites get refreshed)

http://files.avast.com/iavs5x/avast_pro_antivirus_setup.exe

So I believe this is an unfortunate coincidence. If you have any other issues you want to discuss, then create a new topic so it can be resolved without being lost within this massive topic.

Let me say it in an other way.
Before 7 i didnt have any warning from Avast.
With 7 i have 1 warning saying Avast isnt protecting my system compleet. When i look what isnt protected it says thast Avast cant activate my firewall. Ok that was the first warning and i have looked into the forums for an solution.
Than i see that i must uninstal Avast with a special tool downloaded from Avast, so i did. In safemode .
Than i downloaded the new Avast 7 and installed it but now i cant access my email. Not from microsoft or from yahoo.
And i have that warning telling me that Avast is again not protecting my system again.

And whan this is an masive topic, than why is it so big? Something is TOTALY WRONG

In quoting my text it is completely out of context (to your problem) as my reply is directly to 'sandeep108' the person making the post above my reply, saying avast had disabled the windows firewall.

I don't use the AIS version so hopefully someone can reply to your post.

EDIT: reference the Email problem not starting, check out this post - there is a fix that should resolve that http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=94504.msg754358#msg754358.

NOTE This is a fix for windows7 systems, do not run it on any other OS.
