From the begining I had version 6 (installed with a Longman dictionary); later I replaced it with version 7.1.3 and everything went fine. Yesterday I tryed to install version 7.4 and lost everything. Version 7.4 declared that I already had "a newer version" on my PC and aborted the installation process. I was suprised but then uninstalled version 7.1.3 and tryed to install 7.4 - with the same result. Then I tried to reinstall v.7.1.3, but now the installer "can't find QuickTime.msi" (though I can clearly see it with my own eyes in Windows Explorer).

Since that I can't install neither older nor newer versions, and as a consequence can't use the dictionary.

I would keep trying,an article I've just been reading,points out the importance of keeping media players updated.The article dates before Quicktime 7.4

.net framework 3.5 update
 If you have installed earlier pre-release versions of .NET Framework 3.5, then you must uninstall them prior to running this installation by using Add or Remove Programs or complete uninstall use below....
use this link for a clean uninstall before installing the new update-i use the clean all versions option :)
