I know this post you posted is a ways back but you said  ccleaner has been updated and I got a reply back from bleedingcomputer.com. I have that cleaner. I know it is not a rogue but I downladed reg tool because it said it would fix my windows media  player witch it did not and it was a rogue . it said buy and it would fix all my other trouble as will as the windows media player. i unstalled it scan with Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and the avast scanner. then i wrote bleedingcomputer.com. they ask for a log and said this. this is a copy paste of that part.

First we don not recommend any

registry cleaners they seem to do

more harm than good. So I am

recommending you uninstall

them.

I would like a couple of thoughts on that.
thanks Sharon sham1313

I thought it would be nice to have a special thread where everyone can notify the other members about various program's updates.

I'll start:
- ccleaner has been updated to version 1.16.082 (http://www.ccleaner.com/)
- Winamp has been updated to version 5.07 (http://www.winamp.com/player/free.php)
- CWShredder has been updated to version 2.12 (http://www.intermute.com/spysubtract/cwshredder_download.html)

hpHOSTS - UPDATED May 29th, 2009

The hpHOSTS Hosts file has been updated. There is now a total of 62,446 listed hostsnames.

If you are NOT using the installer, please read the included Readme.txt file for installation instructions. Enjoy!

• Latest Updated: 29/05/2009 13:30
• Last Verified: 29/05/2009 12:00

Download hpHosts now!
http://hosts-file.net/?s=Download

I am also happy to announce, after a complete overhaul and manual conversion, the hpHosts forums are now back online. Sadly, user accounts were not saved, so you'll need to re-register.

I am happy that the hpHosts forum is back on line but avast! is reporting a false positive on the blog:

Looks like it is a regular update, which also supports win7 if you have it installed.

Getting back to posting updates :)

Java SE Runtime Environment 6 (JRE) Update 14
The full internal version number for this update release is 1.6.0_14-b08 (where "b" means "build"). The external version number is 6u14.

This release is Windows 7 support-ready and includes support for Internet Explorer 8, Windows Server 2008 SP2, and Windows Vista SP2. New features include the G1 garbage collector, plus performance and security enhancements.
This feature release does not contain any new fixes for security vulnerabilities to its previous release, Java SE 6 Update 13. Users who have Java SE 6 Update 13 have the latest security fixes and do not need to upgrade to this release to be current on security fixest

Apple Releases iTunes 8.2, QuickTime 7.6.2
Quote
Apple has released versions 8.2 of iTunes and 7.6.2 of QuickTime to address a series of vulnerabilities, mostly in QuickTime.

The one iTunes vulnerability is a stack overflow in parsing "itms:" URLs which can lead to a DOS or arbitrary code execution. 10 vulnerabilities in QuickTime are all of a type that viewing certain malicious content could crash the program or lead to arbitrary code execution. Most of these vulnerabilities affect both Windows and Mac versions.

Such attacks do happen in the real world, and it's a good idea to apply the updates quickly.
