Thanks for the info, Pete. SIW installs the Crawler Toolbar into IE and Firefox by default.  If you don't want it, be sure to opt out by unchecking it during the installation.

I recommend downloading the Lite version, which doesn't include Media Player Classic.
Use Media Player Classic Home Cinema instead.  It has more features and is more actively supported than the Media Player Classic included with Real Alternative.

I use MPC HC aswell Alan. I use it together with ffdshow. It's the best combo for me for sure. ffdshow is quite amazing especially that i can set up my sound so well with this, i can force 5.1 sound from stereo sources which my soundcard already does(x-fi) but this allows to me to go even further and set each speaker independently any way i'd like and also force the voice on my center channel. Of course there are other candies there aswell. One nice feature i like in MPC HC is that i have hardware accelerated decoding for playing h264/x264(i install the Haali Media Splitter for those mkv files also) content which is also cool as that frees up the cpu. But i go for the latest SVN builds of both programs. Get them here. Fresh builds every few days.
