Since Alwil is confident with keeping up with the competition?  In this age of information, it must be almost impossible to keep potential customers from information on other rival products.  Letting the users use a product that is not crippled would be a better way to show how competent they are with their products.

Among the security software vendors, who sounds most confident in responding to the appearance of MSE?  Also, aren't we sure that they are not just words, aren't we?

That isn't the point, I really don't care what he uses, but what is effectively advertising a copetitive product when you are paying for the advertising.

I somehow doubt other AV companies would condone the posting of update information of other AVs on their forum.

Maybe we're not afraid about that competition ;D ;D

It will be good that they post what should we do and which is their policy.
In my opinion, they're not that worried about that ;)

If you you see that my post is directly related to Omids update post for AVG and as such nothing to do with MSE.

I have no problem with users finding out information for themselves on the internet. It is the fact that Alwil pay for this forum, so I see no reason why they should pay for this indirect promotion of another resident AV no matter which one that might be.

As I said in my last reply, I doubt other AV support forums would be so supportive of this on their forums.

My point is that I think the approach of Alwil is bit different from other companies, which can be glanced at by seeing CEO's response to MSE.

Yes it is, but I don't believe that extends to indirect advertising of competitors Resident AV on Alwil's avast Support forums. The CEO's response was on someone elses medium and they were paying for the resources not Alwil.

Yes they are generous, but I feel this takes the biscuit.

This is however O/T for this particular topic especially given the number of posts it has generated.

So perhaps we should let the Moderators decide as to its legitimacy or otherwise; those that don't feel it should be here should click on the report to moderator and they can then decide.

Sorry David,
I disagree with your premise. One of the things that makes Alwil (avast!) better in not only their product but also their forum,
is the freedom and latitude they have always provided.
This forum differs from most because it's not just a "Fan Boys/Girls"  forum.
This forum just like the product is better than the rest and that's what makes both the forum and avast! a cut above the rest. :) IMHO
We give advice and help on almost anything including competitors products. ( Why hide when you've got them beat.)
