Microsoft has released the DirectX June Update for Windows XP, Vista and 7. Note that this is the full redistributable version; the web installer will be released shortly.

Better add Speccy to avast detection and flag the program as "PUP".

Update: The new version seems to opens a connection to m x 1. k 0 0 k.c o m. (note that I separate the letters to prevent others to click on the link.) according to a reviewer from Fileforum. So this program will definitely need to be classified as an "Unwanted Program".

Someone in the Piriform forums suggested the Windows Product Key feature just in case you don't remember the key or if you lost your Windows XP/Vista/7/2008/ manual or box that has it on there.

Technically, the 1.02 version needs to be fixed, cause I may have found a bug in it that slowing my PC down. Also the address I mentioned in my last post appears to be the server name for Speccy.

I don't know what version of Speccy people are using ?

I have always used the stand alone version rather than the installed version, which I presumed doesn't have any issue relating to connecting to mx1. k 0 0 k. c o m, but it is in there also.

I have just been using it and my firewall Outpost Pro has logged a connection attempt, it has tried a connection to mx1. k 0 0 3 k. c o m. So if you want to use it then block speccy.exe in your firewall as I have.

David, I said in my last post the m x 1 . k 0 0 3 k . c o m is Piriform's server for Speccy. When I installed 1.02, even though it displayed my WP key, it slowed my computer (even if I tried CCleaner to clean my temp files).

Mickey Way (a Piriform Forum user) suggested the WP key to be added to Speccy.

Under the Operating System section, it would be nice to list the Product Key. It would be a simple way to recover the key if you have misplaced your original key and are stuck when you want to do a re-install of the OS.
