@ Omid: you don't need to answer if you mind... okay, was just worried about the version numbering, 5.0.64.152, and you can't get that from the Skype web site, such a version doesn't exist.

@Chris: It is not forbidden to download it, but it does not connect easily, but not a problem with my network, Facebook and youtube is banned, but don't I use? ;)

@Logos: I guess we are downloading different file because Skype has dedicated servers and have not uploaded same file over all of them. sometimes similar problem happen with Hitman Pro too, US IPs download newer version but from same URL German IP download older version.

Re Sun Java updates:  Now that Oracle has taken over, most addresses for the Sun downloads have been changed.  Finding the manual/offline version I normally use took some hunting through their FAQs ... for the RTE (all platforms), it's now at http://java.com/en/download/manual.jsp .

(Edit) Oracle did make one nice change -- you no longer have to also get that idiotic download manager first, at least in the offline version.
