I don't want don't start a discussion in here but,
my worry has to do with going on the internet without protection,
which isn't the case here.

Logos: If I remember correctly, you were mainly responsible for Damien leaving this site.

Keep this bollocks up, and you will force Omid away, too.

@Omid: You are doing a sterling job dude. Keep up the good work!

+1 I told him already and such posts linking directly to executables should be deleted without delay.
If these where malicious links to infected files, I'd agree with you.
Since they aren't I think it's nice not to have to go by way of china to get the actual file that I'm looking for.
Sorry Logos but I don't see anything wrong with Omid's post.  :)

Couldn't agree more.

Omid has NEVER posted a malicious link.

Do Not Tell Me about that. I just posted link from MajorGeeks.com so go tell them about this issue.

If I give some Mirror will you stop boring me?

I'm sorry, Omid.  I did not desire to upset you.  I intended to politely request that you not post links to an unmirrored Mozilla repository and provided better links that you and other users could use.

That said, I'm going to wait for Mozilla to provide this one though the download page or update channel.  It may not actually be ready yet:

Nice Off-topic, next time instead of being Mozilla Hero

Hey, it's a dirty job, but somebody's got to do it. :)

and posting off-topic, follow your personal idea and wait for what you want...

Both David and I posted our concerns that the release wasn't ready yet and why.  MajorGeeks was hosting a copy of Firefox before Mozilla was ready to have it released.  In addition to that, the Download@Author's Site link MajorGeeks provided redirected to an unmirrored executable in the Mozilla ftp repository instead of the Mozilla download page or the mirrored repository.  MajorGeeks has a history of announcing and hosting Firefox releases before Mozilla thinks they're completely ready, and has in the past -- at least once -- announced and hosted builds that were different from the ones that Mozilla eventually released to the public.  Not a happy scenario.  That's why we usually recommend people wait until Mozilla is ready before updating.  If I recall correctly, I've seen that suggestion made by other users in this topic before now.

Please, stop now. This thread is for updates ONLY.

P.S. I'm not bashing anybody in particular. Just trying to get back on topic. We went off topic.

@Tech.
Omid's public, personally insulting outburst at me required a public, conciliatory, and informative explanation regarding appropriate updates from me in the same topic, without insulting him back.  I'm now satisfied that the subject is closed.

No, problems. We (you) can open a new thread about Firefox's polices of downloading files.
Well... Who am I suppose to be to give rules here? Do what you think you should. Freedom.
Just that... maybe... elsewhere ;D

Thanks yodaosan :)

The first RC (Release Candidate) of Firefox web browser is now available for download at ftp.mozilla.org. If you have trouble accessing the above link, use this direct link to download the Firefox 4 RC1 installer for Windows. The Mac version of Firefox 4 RC1 is here while the Linux version is here.
