Updated fine on both my systems.

+1 ;)
+2 I'm not fond of the new naming convention for the updates though. (Malwarebytes 1.60)

They are broadly similar to the avast VPS ones, just separated with a . period. At least it gives you an idea of the date of the last update, were the old numbering method didn't.

Re MBAM 1.60 upgrade -- the PRO version includes the long-awaited incremental updates.  I asked at their forums, and a mod advised me they intend to keep that a PRO-only feature.  For those of us with the free version, however, the full database is now a good meg-plus smaller than before, which will help a little.
Intel Atom D2700, 2 gig RAM, Win 7 x64 SP1 & IE-11, Firefox 51.0
(default). 320 gig HD, 15Mb DSL, Win firewall, Avast 12.3.2280 free, SpywareBlaster, MBAM Prem., Crypto-Prevent

When I was still on dial-up, this was a real pain in the backside as the download was close to 5MB then, So for me I saw little point in purchasing the Pro version only to disable auto updates. I used to download the updates once a week just before running an on-demand scan.

Once I got broadband I bought the Pro version for this system and then another for my win7 netbook.

I honestly can't see the point in this for the free version as it doesn't penalise those on broadband that much and I would say not much of an incentive to upgrade, that really has to be the resident protection not incremental updates.

Fully agree with David, the full download is just a pain and increase server usage. It's not an incentive.

The resident protection is well worth the price!

I have not had dial-up since 2003!  ;)

Well lucky you, not everyone is fortunate enough to be in an area where broadband is available. I only fell into that lucky position about 15 months ago.

So it isn't all that long ago I was on dial-up so I still understand the hassles they have to go through. I always consider them when attaching images, optimising/cropping them, etc. to make life easier for dial-up users, unfortunately many have forgotten those hassles and make such no considerations.

For me the price (a one of payment) wasn't so much an issue, but on dial-up the resident protection accompanied with auto updates would have been a pain in the rear. With no incremental update a 5MB update took 15-20 minutes (@ 3 - 4 minutes per MB), so I saw zero point in the pro option paying for something I would effectively be unable to use.

In conclusion I don't care for your smug comment about your not having had dial-up since 2003, it so sums up your general attitude.

I have 30 mb (speed) cable internet that has reached over 60

mb and at times slower than dial up.

I get angry about spending almost $50 a month when my

internet is as slow as dial up.

My point is sometimes Cox Cable reminds me of how slow dial

up is. :'(

Yeah, little weird but they're there.

OT: I wonder why ???

Edit: never mind I found it

Microsoft released an out-of-band patch today for .NET

Vulnerabilities in .NET Framework Could Allow Elevation of Privilege (2638420)
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/security/bulletin/ms11-100

Recommendation. The majority of customers have automatic updating enabled and will not need to take any action because this security update will be downloaded and installed automatically. Customers who have not enabled automatic updating need to check for updates and install this update manually.

Well said!

Although YoKenny has helped me on several occasions, and I am grateful for his contributions, I have to agree!

End of off topic.
