Beta or not, anti-rootkit tools are generally run when suspect that you have a rootkit infection - I would go further and suggest that they should be run under guidance of a malware removal specialist.

Avast has an anti-rootkit module built in and this is based on the GMER anti-rootkit tool (one of the better ones), but that required a degree of user knowledge.
