Users of the new Microchip development environment MPLabX, should not allow this update as overwriting Java V6 with V7 will break MPLabX.

What an extraordinary and small minded response that was.I never realised such hostility existed in this forum towards other programs and to be honest i find it very childish and ridiculous.Ok i can understand you are a happy user of avast but is it really neccessary to issue negative comments about other products like that.?

Don't forget that this is after all a support forum and obviously an avast one at that.

We are forever having to remind people that having two AVs installed at the same time isn't advisable, since this is an >> UPDATES << topic, does it make sense to effectively suggest that having MSE installed is fine and update it.

That is I believe what Bob is stating.
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.4.6112 (build 24.4.9067.762) UI 1.0.803/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

Since this is the avast! support forum, the people frequenting this forum use avast! Antivirus.
Since you only use one resident AV, you wouldn't and shouldn't have MSE installed on your computer.
Hence, Who here cares about an update for MSE and/or an update about any other resident AV.

The advice is neither hostile nor small minded and not a negative comment but, simply good advice. If you're using avast!,  MSE and all other AV's updates are
of no concern to you and don't need to take up room in a thread designed to inform you about updates to programs you might be using.
