The device owner is not set. Cannot enable Anti-Theft
« on: May 15, 2012, 10:52:38 AM »
Got HTC Explorer. It is not rooted. I Installed Avast Mobile Security and then Anti-Theft.

I'm not able to configure Anti-Theft now. When I start Anti-Theft, it adds my sim to safe list. I go to Setup Basic Settings --> Enable Anti-Theft , it gives me an error "The device owner is not set. Cannot enable Anti-Theft".

I checked properly, Anti-Theft is added as a device administrator. I tried uninstalling and installing again, rebooted my phone a couple of times but i'm stuck at the same place. Cant get it working. Cant enable Anti-Theft. Any idea what is going wrong?

Hello,

please open all the menu entries in the Basic Settings and complete the forms there.

- Your name: it asks for the device owners name (your name)
- avast! Password (the 4-6 digits pin code, only numbers)
- Remote Control: one or two friends numbers (which will be notified in case of sim changes)

all these basic informations are needed to activate anti-theft.

Thanks a ton! It worked... I think the Enable Anti-Theft checkbox should be after the Basic Settings menu, rather than before it.

Anyways, thanks a lot!
