Why buy the Suite edition?

I'm trying to determine if I need the "suite" edition. What does the "file server" function do? How is it different from a client version on a client that offers a file share? (I don't use Sharepoint or Exchange. My AD server is just a file and login server.)

My current AVG license is about to run out and I'm considering a 20 license buy of Endpoint Protection Plus. The website quotes me $579.80 and $799.80 for the suite version. I'd like to know what I get for the additional $220 for the suite version.

It seems that the only functional difference is whether Exchange and Sharepoint features are included.

So I'm guessing that if one doesn't use those aspects of Windows Server, the real difference is licensing. So I could (for example) get enough licenses of Suite to cover my servers and then buy the rest outside a suite. Does that make sense?
