To me, that's unacceptable since I don't and won't use WebRep.

Well, you'll miss this feature then. As well as the anti phishing protection, btw...

To get WebRep you need to install "browser protection". Just saying... :)
I understand that, but, you don't have to turn it on, and, it doesn't have to be turned on to get the phishing protection. The two things are independent of each other and the SiteCorrect should be too. It should not require WebRep to be activated. The reported problem with SiteCorrect not working unless WebRep was active has to be a bug. At least one would hope so.

Which ones do you mean? You have the options of enabling Webrep and /or Phishing protection separately in the UI so obviously they are independent. It was reported that the new SiteCorrect feature in the beta does not work without WebRep being active and I consider that to be a bug. At least I hope it is.

I stand corrected. It's been a while since I dug around the UI. A user has the option of all three or any combination of the three.  :-[

While you're right about the settings, still it will only work with WR enabled..!!! ;)

I wonder if Webrep would make firefox use more memory.. But There is a way to have webrep installed while not seeing it.. Maybe hide it on the addon bar or just remove from the toolbars in firefox  :P

BSOD this evening with the lastest beta during a boot on my home system, the driver involved seems aswSnx.sys.
It's appeared only one time, for now. After the re-boot the system it's seems OK again.
Uploaded minidump to avast FTP server, with name giogioBSOD.zip

I don't know if it's just fixed or not.  ;)

Time to update to RC 1
http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=100153.new#new

Thanks for the link.  A couple days ago I upgraded from Avast Pro to Internet security.  I am running windows 8 Consumer Preview x64 and the issue I have found with version 1443 is that when ever my laptop falls asleep, waking it back up results in limited connectivity.  I have to run the repair network utility before I can get my internet back.  This issue specifically started after upgrading to Avast Internet Security.  Will give the RC a try to see if the problem goes away.
