I've never heard of Abine. I use privacychoice and it works fine. I had it in IE9 and when I installed 10, it just transferred over like everything else did and is working fine.  IE 10 is more secure than 9 but on Win 7 it does not have the full set of features that it does in Win 8. It should probably be more accurately called IE 9.5 when run on Win 7.

I saw PrivacyChoice on the list where Abine is.   I've thought about upgrading to Windows 8 but after reading about it I don't know whether or not I would be able to figure out how to use it.

Is the Release Preview the same thing as an "RC build"? If it is I am going to install IE10 Release Preview.
OS: Windows 11 64-bit
Webbrowser: Mozilla Firefox

I think it pretty much is. I haven't found any bugs at all. It works fine.  There were other previews but only for developers. This one is meant for consumers.

Yes it is. If you want to use Java, you will have to uninstall the 32 bit version that IE9 used and install the 64 bit one. I just discovered that.

After I installed IE 10 64 bit I no longer had IE 32 bit.

Exactly, and that's why the 32 bit Java won't work.

Update to the Java issue. You only need the 64 bit version if you have enabled the enhanced protection mode in IE10. If that is not enabled, you need the 32 bit version.

I have also discovered a problem between IE10 and CCleaner. I have always had CCleaner delete my cookies while keeping login cookies for certain sites like this one and it has always worked for IE8 and 9. There seems to be a problem with IE10 where even if you have cookies in the save list in CCleaner, when you reboot your computer, you will have to log in to all those sites again. I thought it was a glitch in the IE10 preview but after testing I have come to the conclusion that the problem is with CCleaner. I have now unchecked IE cookies from being deleted by CCleaner and am managing them totally through the Internet options of Win 7. I now have my browsing data automatically deleted when the browser is closed but told it to retain data for my favorite sites and the History. That seems to be working fine. I can then run CCleaner just before shutting down at night like I always have to clear out the History and any left over temp files while retaining my login cookies.

Is the IE 10 version's home page supposed to look different than IE 9?

I don't know what you mean. I have two home pages, Yahoo, and MyWay and they look the same.

I am still having problems retaining my login cookies though and it looks like there is no way to revert back to IE9 until 10 becomes an actual released product without the problem.

I thought it would look a little more fancy than IE 9.  MSN is my homepage and it looks so blah.

I found out how to uninstall the IE10 preview and I have done so because of the cookie handling issues. I was reverted back to IE9 exactly the way it was before installing the preview, fully updated and running the 32 bit version. My verdict on IE10 for Win7 is, "Not ready for prime time".

To uninstall the preview, type Programs and Features into the search box and then click on the same words in the displayed list. Then click on view installed updates at the left, scroll down to Windows Internet Explorer 10 under the Microsoft Windows header, and uninstall it. You will revert back to what you had installed previously.

Now that I'm back on IE9, I can say that the speed increase in IE10 is minimal at best. You have to use the 32 bit version of IE9 to get it's fastest possible speeds. Now I have to reinstall speckie though to get spell checking back. I had removed it. All other addons and settings reverted back to how they were before however.
