Yes, but (I think) you would lose 3-6 months then.

Bob is 100% correct when you apply for a license online the license become active on the day you issue, not the other way around when you've inserted a license in to you're software the date doesn't set when you apply the license. The license become active only when you've registered on day it is issued.

i have question,I've recommended it to many of my friends and my friends have already downloaded + installed avast, but why point my recommendation that I can only slightly (just 3 points) ? ,I only fear my efforts in vain

Hi, it can take up to 48 hours to have the successful installations recorder on your account. And of course the installations must be active ;-)

i do wonder, why there is no recommend other avast products ? like Mobile security, bussiness, server or else ...

it would be nice if i could do all those from one interface

I believe you can use then in any order on any qualifying windows system, so long as you don't exceed the number of licenses you have. So moving them around or to a new system isn't/shouldn't be an issue. Provided that the old installation and license is removed or you would exceed the number of active licensed installations; this would require that you uninstall avast to be able to switch licenses around.

The 1 year license would only be valid for the balance of the license period, it wouldn't give you a full year as the license starts from the date/time of issue and this is validated within the actual license.

As far as I know, you're correct with your assumption.
The effective date starts from the date issued.

I LOVE AVAST AND I'M USING AVAST SINCE WHEN IT WAS LOOKED LIKE A MUSIC PLAYER AND THE AVAST LOGO IS BLUE
When I was on 8th standard I convinced my school teachers to install avast on all school pc .. and after few months my HEAD MASTER (not principal ..we call him that in India's small schools) praised ..and told me to install avast on his computer since then I was giving avast to every one.. now I'm studying in B.COM (2nd year) ..

Now straight to the point..

I HAVE REACHED 22 FRIENDS... (YES 22 NOT 21)... BUT STILL I'M USING AVAST FREE...
I JUST WANTED TO KNOW WHAT WILL HAPPEN WHEN DOWNLOAD THE 3 YEARS LICENSE ...

i.e. WHEN I GET 28 RECOMMENDATION CAN I ABLE TO DOWNLOAD ANOTHER AVAST 1 YEAR LICENSE ?
if not then what will happen to my excess recommendation?

Why TF would I recommend Avast when it's bricked my perfectly good W8 PC and the support is non-existent? Hardly a sign of a professionally supported product.

Sure, we all make mistakes but when we do, generally we hold our hands up and try to fix the issues we've caused. Not so Avast it seems....

In the meantime, I shall be un-recommending Avast to as many people as I can. Not out of spite but because I don't want them to experience the same cost and effort as I have.

You know about the problem but are frantically doing nothing so far, not even communicating that you are(??) working on a fix to recover our installations. Or even telling us that you are sorry but there is no alternative but to reinstall our systems all over again.

Maybe if you explained your problem and were willing to work with someone instead of simply complaining, you might even be able to solve your problem.
(You'll have to also let someone know exactly what your "problem" is.)
I've used avast! on Windows 8 since early Win 8 beta testing days and have never had a problem with avast! that couldn't be solved.
It didn't however get solved through complaining.
