Scheduled Scan Failure
« on: May 10, 2014, 09:56:07 PM »
Hello,
My scheduled scans (Avast free) failed to run today on two separate PCs (one Win7 and the other Vista).  Last week’s scans ran without incident. I rebooted and tried again, but the selected time pasted without result.  Nothing has changed in my configuration on either system since last week.
Is anyone else experiencing this problem?
Thanks…

Try a repair...Control Panel>Uninstall a Program>double click "avast">click "repair">reboot.
Dell Inspiron, Win10x64--HP Envy Win10x64--Both systems Avast Free v17.9.2322, Comodo Firewall v8.2 w/D+, MalwareBytes v3.0, OpenDNS, Super Anti-Spyware, Spyware Blaster, MCShield, Unchecky, Vivaldi Browser and, various browser security tools.

May sound as a silly question?

Are you sure the PC wasn't in sleep mode/battery mode (laptop)?

If so, did you enable avast! to wake up the PC to perform scan/perform scan while on battery power?

Thanks for the replies. The problem is now fixed. It appears that something changed by firewall permissions on both machines. Once I fixed that, all worked well as I expected. I'm looking at what might have caused the exact same change on both machines.
