Why not Avast! engineers creates a tool for Ransomwares like Malwarebytes did Malwarewarebytes Anti-Ransomware to block it.Now days ransomware bypassed Avast! Protection and encrypted the files.Avast! has some signatures to block it but todays ransomwares evloved rapidly.So Signatures are so weak.Avast! should create a not signature base Ransomware protection.

i think the best way to go about it is to have avast stop all file encrypting (like all encrypting that is attempted to take place on the computer at the time) unless added to a whitelist. like the same kind of notification you get when a new program is downloading that not many people from avast use, giving you the option to allow or deny it.

this should in theory block some of the worst ransomware.

but im no computer programmer so i dont know if its possible to do that.

I just hope it won't be as forgettable and useless as pretty much everything they've made so far. Big expectations and then hardly any results. I'm really looking forward to see if avast! will be the same old or they'll actually do something that works for once.

I can totally agree with Rejzor.

The last good thing security-wise they added has been Evo-Gen back in Avast 8-

Its really time for a big step up in security features, Avast has the biggest user-base of any AV Vendor excluding Microsoft.

So why are they not taking this to any use?

This a behavioural thing.  The trigger for detection of ransomeware behaviour is the process of encryption.  It is analogous to web browser exploit detection such as Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit and presumably the encrypting process will be detected and terminated.  That is how I believe that Malwarebytes Anti-Ransomware works.  Its is presently at beta stage.

My suggestion is just strip down Avast during install (custom) to the base A/V (shields only) & add MBAM Pro.
The "crud" that Avast has added on has made their product go the way of Symantec. 
While you are "waiting" for Avast to come up with something go to MalwareBytes for Ransomware.

MBAM Pro & AntiExploit already work very well with Avast baseline A/V.

to change the policies and you have now have a decent level of protection....without slowing or borking your machine.

Sadly I used to install all features of Avast but now I wait so long for the issues to be resolved of what I view as Alpha Test software that I have moved to other more effective and streamlined approaches.  Don't get me wrong, Avast baseline A/V is great but they should fire the guys internally that keep pushing the other "crud-ware" into the package....it has totally hurt the Avast name/credibility IMHO.

Many of the people I talk to while doing my Avast sponsored security presentations, think that some of the add-ons happen to be very helpful.
