The failure of Digital signatures model?
McAfee’s Q3 Threat Report shows more than 1.5 million samples of Android malware, nearly 8% of the total, were signed using a digital signature.

Mac OS X targed
The amount of malware aimed at computers running Mac OS X grew at the same rate as the previous quarter, with only about 300 new threats detected in Q3.

I have downloaded Recuva from Piriform. I tried to run it in administrator mode and the program exits quickly. I observed that at the top of the install window there was a DeepScreen indication stating that
this program is suspicious and having a checkmark indication. I went to the Avast's options and unchecked
the DeepScreen feature. I runned it again (with a clean cache) and the program exited. Can you tell me
if Avast have a compatibility problem with this program?

Another service coming to an end.  :'(

Opera has announce that it's "My Opera" service will end on 3/1/2014
Ironically, the closure happens on my 54th wedding anniversary.
I guess I should rejoice that it's only a web service that's ending.....  :)

A Holiday Browser Performance Test compliments of Microsoft.
(Turn your volume up!) Merry Christmas!
Using the Comodo Dragon browser which is a modified version of Chrome 30 the test takes 53.95 seconds and there is no sound at all. Using Internet Explorer 11, the test takes a mere 5.38 seconds and there is full sound throughout.

For Comodo Dragon with extensions it took 70 seconds without took almost twice as long though I dont know why. In IE 11 it took 10 seconds.

Well this seems more of a promotion for IE11 and windows 8.1, but the benchmark for firefox 26.0 was 10.59 sec. And the music drives you bonkers.
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.3.6108 (build 24.3.8975.762) UI 1.0.801/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

I couldn't run the test in IE at all. The button to click for starting the test was non responsive and never did anything. ???
In Firefox, I got a message that this browser wasn't compatible and I should install IE 11.
In Opera, the sound didn't work.
I have to agree with David, another MS promotion which in my case backfired.... ;D ;D ;D

Win8.1, IE11 2.12 seconds with sound.

Opera 12.16   23.57 seconds no sound.

Chrome31 ,   33.99 seconds stuttering graphics and sound ......... turn off avast and it flies through perfectly !

Avast is still messing up Chrome browser.
