Zoom Supports Continued Access for Basic Users with Advertising Program
https://blog.zoom.us/zoom-continued-access-for-basic-users-with-advertising-program/
It's actually a very limited ad and only shown in the browser when leaving the meeting.
The other prerequisite is that the one hosting the meeting is also a free user.
I really don't see anything wrong with this. After all, ZOOM is not a 501c3 (non-profit) Corp.

Mozilla Firefox, the first Chromium alternative in the Windows Store
https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/software/mozilla-firefox-the-first-chromium-alternative-in-the-windows-store/

It amazes me why anyone would go to the Windows Store to get Firefox and not direct to the source.  I just wonder the whole point of this and even the point of the windows store (that I avoid like the plague).

One instance in the forums two versions of the same Game and the MS Store one appears to be different from the original, as Avast is seeking to resolve a compatibility issue are still trying to resolve the MS Store version.
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 22.10.6038 (build 22.10.7633.734) UI 1.0.733/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

Apps downloaded via the store are supposed to be safer and easier to un-install.

That may or may not be the case, but why would they be different from the original source.

A question to ask MS and I'm sure Avast is trying to do just that.

Microsoft Edge now bashes Google Chrome when you download it
https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/microsoft/microsoft-edge-now-bashes-google-chrome-when-you-download-it/

Love the image Edge runs on the technology as Chrome and then proceeds to trash it and add the added trust of MS, what if you don't trust MS, this being an example.  Storing these trashing put-down quotes and others on your system to use later.

Quote from: extract
"Microsoft Edge runs on the same technology as Chrome, with the added trust of Microsoft. Browse securely now"

"That browser is so 2008! Do you know what's new? Microsoft Edge. Come to the future"

What was wrong with 2008 :)

+1 ;D

PS: Reminds me of the "browser wars" in the 90ies.
