Hi there,

How do you rate NoVirusThanks Malware Remover individually & vs. MBAM?

Thanks!

This is not a thread for discussion, just for information sharing. Maybe starting your own new thread.

Sorry I actually had to post the link to no virus thanks uploader, not malware remover. Now changed it.

Thanks

Visual Studio 2010 was extremely slow when I beta tested it. Wonder how fast it would be now..

I guess the problem is that we as malware removers don't flaunt our skills while people who write virusses do. It's more a question of attitude.

"I wrote a virus!"
"Cool!"

As opposed to..
"I removed a virus!"
"Don't all antivirus programs do that?"

Shame really. Such a waste of skill.

You can always right-click the link and do a "copy shortcut", then paste that into the URL bar.

That'll actually show where the link is going.

I just did that when I was testing a malicious site that Pondus found with the hugeurl site.

If I copied the shortcut of the hugeurl and pasted it, it came out with the short (regular) link.

I agree.  Smart computing is much more effective than blacklist-implemented security software.  Don't *rely* on your AV at all.  It's just one layer and it's vulnerable to zero-day exploits.  I know, I'm preaching to the converted, but I think a constant reminder is necessary, especially for newbies who think an AV provides reliable protection against all attacks.  What do you call a user who *depends* on AV to verify if downloads are safe or otherwise make the Internet safe? Infected!

Using Internet Explorer 6, Are you Kidding Me?

Information collected this month indicates that Windows 7 is now installed on more machines than Windows Vista. At least among my readers.

I did find one disturbing trend. Over 15 percent of my WinPatrol.com visitors who use Internet Explorer are still using version 6 or below. This is very scary.  “Using Internet Explorer 6 is is like leaving all your doors and windows open, then telling everyone on Facebook/Twitter your family is going on vacation.”
