Download Official Windows XP Themes, No UXTheme Patching Required

Quote
The most important and impressive thing about these themes is, the themes don't require any kind of patching. So you can easily install and apply themes without worrying about patching uxtheme.dll file in your system.

Symantec subsidiary PC Tools replaces their uninspiring free AV with upselling-intended version of Spyware Doctor 'AntiVirus Free'

Over a week old now but I didn't see this one coming.

The Windows era is over

http://www.betanews.com/joewilcox/article/The-Windows-era-is-over/1274899297

Better switch to another OS like Mac or Linux.

Wrong. considering that by March of this year Windows 7 had sold 90 million copies, Windows will be around for a Loooooong time.

I don't think you ever spent the time I spent tweaking xorg.conf + ATI + XGL (i.e. no AIGLX) "ConfusedComputerUser" ;D
I'm making up for lost time. ;D
On that note it's wierd, The xorg.conf file is empty for me. so that adds an extra layer of enjoyment.  :P

Now I have installed Linux mint (based on ubuntu). It is a bit faster than ubuntu. No prob with ati graphics.

I'll give this a try. Thanks for the post.

BCArchive creates mega-secure encrypted archives

Quote
Archives are very easy to snoop into. Heck, Gmail looks into every ZIP archive you get, and won't let it through if it contains any executables. That's fine, and I can see the point of it.
While you can get around GMail's rudimentary checking by simply opting for a different compression format (7z) sometimes you want a bit of extra privacy for whatever is inside your archive.
