I hope they won't inflate the version number too much(fast) like Chrome does....
Imo it will just confuses end users....

thing is they (MS and Mozilla) feel like they now have the "duty" to more or less follow Chome's model to keep up with the pace and be competitive. Chrome is gaining more and more market share... MS and Mozilla are sweating a bit I guess ;D

Yeah, as many users think a higher version number means anything. ::)

... not the point in this case... the point is that Google is really fast at bringing serious improvements to Chrome. They're adding new features/abilities constantly

Sure they do, still many users get attracted by higher version numbers, as the think that the browser with the highest version wins. ;D

Excellent results. The best proactive detection rate avast! has ever achieved and the least resource impact by far. Very well done avast!.

makes you wonder what their strategy was in taking it on in the first place. So this announcement is a day late and a dollar short, given that Libre Office branched off a while ago. So I wonder if this is more to do with stamping on the Libre Office version than anything else.

They had no real choice, I believe. And yes, it's too late - Libre Office is the better branch meanwhile and all the real important people changed to LO.
OpenOffice is dead - or the name will be given back to LibreOffice (if they still want it which I doubt  ;D )

Interesting. I tried it from where I work which is about 50 miles south of Houston. This program came back and said I was located in or near Plano, Texas which is up near Dallas or about 400 miles north of me. Wonder what happened?  ;D
