My first encounter with DeepScan since installing avast! 2014 RC1
The analysis took about 2 seconds and the program was found to be safe.
(I new that. :) )

Whilst that may appear nuts, but some are certainly proof that their judgement is impaired.

Quote from: Softpedia article
Mainstream support for Windows 7 will end on January 13, 2015, while extended support, which only includes bug fixes and a number of critical security patches, will end on January 14, 2020.

But that doesn't appear too horrendous, those that have win7 Pro may well get extended support as they are generally considered business users and business tends to get a longer life cycle in the support side.

We will have to see how things pan out in the intervening years.

So much for loyalty from microsoft.I personally consider windows 7 the best version of windows to date and it would be criminal of microsoft to stop support.

Indeed i wonder how long it will be before windows 8 users are pushed overboard.?

Not really, I switched my older laptop from XP to Win 8 Pro and using Classic Shell with the Windows 7 skin, I like it.

Good news. Bad news is that I only have one smart phone and can't afford to be without it.
So, no beta for me on my smartphone.  :'(

They don't say if it's a real time scanner or on demand like the free MBAM. It's certainly intriguing though but I'll wait a bit since they also don't mention how it works with a Nexus 7 (my only Android device) and Android 4.3. My cell phone has no OS other than it's rudimentary built in one and doesn't even have internet access or receive or send text messages.

Microsoft pulls Windows RT 8.1 update from website and store
http://www.news.com.au/technology/microsoft-pulls-windows-rt-81-update-from-website-and-store/story-fnjwvnxq-1226743645818
The RT version is used by a relatively small percentage of Windows 8 users.
The average Windows 8 update to version 8.1 is not effected.
