Excess memory use, battery use and slowdown

I am running Avast free current version on Android 6 on Lenovo P2.
I am seeing memory use of up to 1.8GB, secondary battery use of 35-40% and as secondary effect a heavy slowdown (unlocking of phone takes up to 5s).

Terminating Avast from app settings and reopening it solves the problem for a while.

Any ideas? Thank you.

Hello, I'm sorry to hear about the performance issues. This is very unusual. Can I ask which version you're on? Are you able to join the beta group, update to version 6.7.1, and see if it's resolved?

There was an update via play store yesterday, it was the previous version (alternatively where can I find the version?).

If this also gives me problems, I will file the report. Thank you!

Hi, yesterday we completed the staged roll out of v6.7.1 to 100%, so if your app updated yesterday, you have the latest version.
