I'm of the opinion that nobody really needs anything over 5mp and the ones with more are overkill for marketing purposes.
Some of us like to stay up-to-date and take advantage of the new technology that's available and that's pretty much what this last post is all about.

The more MP, the greater the magnification of  the picture and, still see a picture and not just dots. There are many reasons why higher MP
make sense.

If you're just shooting local scenery, maybe what you have is fine even if it's not capable of taking advantage of the product I describe and can't wait to put to use.  :)
3.2 mp is more than sufficient for prints up to 8 X 10 and how many people ever print anything larger than that? The size of the file gets exponentially larger with a higher mp count and your software has to  downsize it even more to display the whole thing. Even 3.2 mp pictures are ridiculously huge at the full resolution on a monitor screen.

It isn't good enough when you're doing something like the following:

It was this panorama that allowed us to zoom into some of the areas of the park that still required cleanup.

A New Addition:

Instant uploads from your camera wherever you are –
that’s the power of the Eye-Fi Mobile X2 wireless memory card.
Since I very often need to upload pictures from my camera,
to post here and on other parts of the forum, etc
this will be a real time saver. :)
And who ever said that "Old Folks" are afraid of new technology ??? ;D
Heres the link to there site, i like how you can also send the photo's straight to your Android or iphone with the app.

http://www.eye.fi/products/mobilex2

I'll be able to upload directly to Photobucket from my camera or with the Android app, feed it directly to Google+. :)

The toy (Eye-Fi card) has arrived.
I've set it up and here's the first test shot:

Hardly think this qualifies as something for this thread.  :(

I agree, I almost responded but then realized it would most likely provoke a firestorm so I refrained.

I don't understand. The title of this topic is "Interesting", and I think some people will think what I posted is interesting.

I still think what I posted is fine. On February 18, someone posted in this thread about something that wasn't currently being discussed. There were no responses that I could see to that post. I don't understand why I got the response I did when the other post didn't get a response (again, from what I could see.)

I have decided to share the URL to a story that I read today. Google will be testing some cars in Nevada that can drive themselves. The URL is http://mashable.com/2012/02/24/google-to-test-driverless-cars-on-nevada-roadways/.

Now that one is perfectly acceptable. The other one is much too politically and religiously charged and that's why it's inappropriate. Some may agree with what was said, others won't and we don't need those kinds of arguments going on here.

I think I understand. If I had known that a post like that wasn't acceptable I wouldn't have posted it in this topic.

According to Engadget, Samsung has a phone called the Samsung Galaxy Beam. It has a projector in it, which is located at the top. The URL is http://www.engadget.com/2012/02/26/samsung-galaxy-beam-hands-on-at-mwc-2012/.
