Well I have Program Updates set to Manual and haven't received any notification.
Current version 23.12.6094 (build 23.12.8700.812) even after a manual update check it indicates I'm up to date.

I can only guess it doesn't impact all users.

I have version: 23.12.8700.813

Did you get a "computer needs to restart" notice or simply do a restart yourself recently?

I didn't receive or at least I didn't see any reboot warning.
Thank you and good day!

firewall broken. created a rule for VNC but can't adjust the rules order because it blocks public tcp/ucp first.
just to be clear--it put my existing rule to the very end of the list, when i attempted to place it to the top the rules list ,it kept reverting back to the last entry in the list when i went to check.  Eventually, i deleted the rule and added a new one and then dragged it to the top.  It now appears to work... something not right there.

Oops.  Since the latest update, my thinkorswim web version is not responding properly.  I can get the login screen, I login, the get a blank screen.  This happens on both Firefox and Google platforms, using the latest Windows 11.  It worked before the latest update, but not after.  I have shut down most of the protections, one at a time, but no help.  Is there a way to disable Avast completely to see if there is a solvable problem therein?

Strangely enough my mozilla based browser clients will now not recognise https  and the email clients wil not work either.
I have been through the email faq and enacted the "import of ssl" (where the email client told me that it already had the certificates, but I forced an import anyway) to no beneficial effect. I can still use email by turning the mail shield off.  I am less keen to do the equivalent for browsing.

Just wondering if anyone else had the basic functionality of the free av killed by the latest update.

Windoze 10 system, I have restarted multiple times, checked if thee was a further "oops" update etc.

Does anyone know when the new version of Avast will be released? because a new version always comes out every month and until now it hasn't arrived for me and the month of January is already ending

Automatic update created a shortcut on my Desktop. Did it create an icon for you too? Reply in the linked topic.

I want functionality for AVAST that doesn't update products automatically because that's very bad, I prefer to update manually.

That's exactly what it does for mine, I have no idea why it isn't on yours.

What updated here automatically was AVAST VPN. Do you use Avast VPN? because if you use it it updated automatically.

My signature states what Avast Program I'm using avast! free 23.12.6094 (build 23.12.8700.762) UI 1.0.792 -

Given this is the "Avast Free Antivirus / Premium Security (legacy Pro Antivirus, Internet Security, Premier)" sub forum that is what I'm commenting about.

Quote from: Extract Avast FAQ
Avast SecureLine VPN and Avast Cleanup Premium are integrated into Avast Premium Security, but require separate, paid subscriptions to use. You can purchase a subscription for either product from the Avast Store.

The highlighting above is mine, so if you have a paid subscription for Avast VPN, then it would probably be best to post in the AVAST VPN sub-forum - https://forum.avast.com/index.php?board=80.0
