During the course of our investigation, we uncovered additional evidence that IOBit may have stolen the proprietary databases of other security vendors as well. We are in the process of contacting these vendors.
I guess this is SUPERAntiSpyware and Ad-Aware..............

We noticed this a few days ago when we received a complaint that malwarebytes only removed 20 infections and then charged for the rest

For those interested here is another company that is playing on the MBAM name hXXp://wwwmalware-bytes.org/malwarebytes/index.html  XoftSpySE

It would be advisable to make the link to the suspect site unclickable, as in my quoted text just in case they have any other underhand tactics.

Fore some considerable tome xoftspy was listed on the spywarewarrior site (http://www.spywarewarrior.com/rogue_anti-spyware.htm) as a rogue anti-spyware.

They were supposed to have cleaned up their act and were removed, personally there are many anti-spyware applications out there with no dubious history for me to ever use any of their software.

Sounds like they're too lazy to come up with their own database. What a rip off.

I wonder whether this software is like an illegal version of something like GDATA or it is simply "repackaged" version of Malwarebytes...

As an end-user, it shouldn't be a problem if anti-virus companies "share" their info but it's illegal in the context of intellectual properties, which is not always respected outside of so-called "Western" countries.  I guess some agreements in the area of international laws are needed among developed countries and rising ones.

That mean they don't need to work hard they just get new malware from other databases and just intergrate them in Iobit security 360!
Too bad smart defrag will miss us!
