Windows 7 / HostsMan Incompatible + I Need Original Hosts File

For some reason, HostsMan messed up my friend's parent's new computer. It messed up my new computer too. It refused to disable DNS client and it would not let web pages load. I had to restore their computer to an earlier state, and mine I'm trying to but restore thing won't load. I think I can change the HOSTS file to the original and it might fix it but I need a copy of the original HOSTS file. Can someone attach it please?

hostman must have made a backup, you can restore it from the program.

I already uninstalled HostsMan hoping it would solve the problem  

Is it because I overwrote the original HOSTS file with all the Microsoft junk and example, or because of the DNS client, or what?

so just edit the hosts file (as admin) and remove anything added, ie, every line that doesn't have an # in the beginning.

Oh yes, when I had HostsMan change it, I selected overwrite, not merge, so it erased all the stuff with the #.

OK so edit it, delete everything inside, all the stuff with # is just information (tips), nothing active.

This is from Windows 7, 32 bit. I had to do it this way as the Forum wouldn't let me attach it.

That's ok. I got my system restore to work and I went back to before I installed HostsMan. I also am using Windows Firewall since my PC Tools Firewall was having problems starting when my computer did.

I'm not sure. As soon as I installed it and restarted later, the internet will not load. I had a connection but any page would just be endlessly loading. I would also get pop-ups asking me to disable the DNS client which I hit yes but it still says it's enabled. Upon uninstalling, the internet would still not work. On my friend's parent's computer, when I uninstalled it, there was an error and their desktop failed to load later on. Also, my PC Tools Firewall was messing up after I uninstalled HostsMan, because after the computer had started up, it would ask for me to let PC Tools Firewall PLUS start, and it would load after a bit. Not sure what was wrong but I restored an earlier point and have no HostsMan or PC Tools Firewall, just Windows Firewall.

Which version are you using? Are you using the newest beta? I was using the newest stable release which may not have had Windows 7 support yet.

I use HostsMan 3.2.71 Beta7

Did you have to manually disable your DNS client or does this beta actually do it? That seemed to be a big problem with the non-beta. It would ask me to disable it but it wouldn't do it.

The beta disabled the DNS Client service.

The beta is for Windows 7 systems.
