If AVG runs well at the same time as Antivir withought any obvious problems (both with resident shields active etc), then why won't avast! ?
avast can run with AVG (both residents) in Windows 98\Me.AVG free and avast! conflict each other. I'm using just the email protection of AVG and avast Pro

I have the same question. In my opinion, all it accomplishes is to slow down accessing your e-mail because it now has to be scanned twice. Also, there are more resources being used.
I know they're different products but If AVG will run happily alongside Antivir, why won't avast! ?
