Hi everyone,

you should see version 2.0.4808 available on Google Play soon. The changelog is pretty short this time:

• Simplified installation wizard
• Uninstall protection and File Shield turned off by default
• PIN protection is now optional
• Added Belarusian localization

Why are they both turned off?

Someone is currently thinking we are getting negative user feedback because of them so this decision has been made. There is nothing wrong with the features as far as I know (meaning they work correctly).

Yeah, I have them on as well. It's true that someone might be experiencing, for example, elevated RAM usage with File Shield turned on, but such users should think about organizing their SD cards better in my opinion (and not having tens of thousands folders there).

I fear there is likely to be more negative feedback if you find that a security program doesn't have that security enabled by default. It kind of makes it pointless to install it in the first place, I say this as the majority of user probably aren't that savvy and would expect it to be enabled.

I'm actually a little taken back that the protection for all users are decreased to satisfy one users complaint
about increased battery use ??

Hi guys,

I myself was against turning off the File Shield, but this was not my decision unfortunately. We will see how it turns out, I fear the same you do.

I was experiencing lagging and slowness with both options turned on.
I've blamed the ROM but, now, after testing I could say it's not ROM related.
I will turned on again to see the impact.

What do you mean? I was with RAM usage with File Shield on. I have only the folders needed/created by the apps I have. How can I optimize the folder tree? Why is it related to File Shield? I mean, the number of the folders?

Both? Read and write?
What were the defaults? If I remember correctly, one was on and other was off. Can't remember exactly...

Yeah, that's unfortunately how it works on Android (number of folders directly impact RAM usage). I think you should be fine if you only have folders you mentioned. I think that usual apps create maybe 5 folders on average on SD card so having 100 apps that's 500 folders, that's just fine.

Write on, read off.

I suppose the PIN will ALWAYS be necessary to uninstall the AT part. Am I wrong?
With the new update, AMS started without a PIN...

Yes, this affects AMS only.
