Since installing Avast 7 my system has become very slow starting and - on one occasion - stalled after I'd entered my Windows password, seemingly not accepting 'enter' for a matter of minutes. There is a separate thread where others have raised the some issue but there has been no support response. I'd really be very grateful for some assurance that there's no risk of me being locked out of Windows.

i have a small issue after upgrading to version 7. every time i do manual update, the progress bar always stuck, and it takes about a minute finish. in earlier version, it only takes a few seconds to complete.

there's nothing wrong with my internet connection, and i only have windows firewall.

у меня при каждой загрузке выдает окно - для завершения установки нажмите "готово". и так каждый раз, а это означает, что до моего нажатия этой кнопки система не защищена.

Of course it stops working, it can't be connected when computer is not running. It will reconnect in a minute or two when you start it again.
Unless if it doesn't for several minutes, then it's worth further observing or inspecting the situation.

EDIT: Do u mean offline update is not working with version 7? in that sense, why u want to do a offline update when u can update directly through UI?are u facing problems with normal avast updates?

Why do you feel the need to ask unnecessary questions, 0Indian?

The offline update exists for a reason, and a person would not use such a cumbersome method unless they had to.

Sorry gargamel.
Well i just edited the post...its true indian and not 0indian...I just was curious why would a normal avast user do a offline update when avast updates itself periodically....and why should a user use offline updates if his avast updates fine.
