Problem with avast! Account
« on: February 25, 2012, 05:39:46 PM »
I just created an account at my.avast.com. I was requested to insert first name, last name, email and password. I received a confirmation email from avast!, and all was good. Account verified.

Now at the login screen, the form asks me for a username... but which username? During the creation of the account I was non prompted to insert any username... my first and last name don't work as username.

What I am supposed to write in in the login form?

Thank in advance for any explanation.

I thought that myself initially, it asks for a username, but the only unique data you have given it is your email address.

You use your email address to login.

Perhaps it would be clearer if it said email address instead of username.

Oh, I see. Now it's clear. Thank you spg SCOTT!  :)

At least I found I can disconnect by going to Settings>Account.  Not sure I like being connected to something I can't figure out what it does.

Okay, I just got an email from Avast.

Subject: registration.email.subject

The body simply says: "registration.email.content"

No attachments, links, or anything, but I assume it's related to my mysterious account.  :)

Nope, just connected and it's not there.

Any idea what the "registration.email.content" is supposed to say (minus any user id's or other personal information, of course)?

Thanks Tech.

Edit: I see from the OP that it should just be a verification email, no action involved?  I assume my account is working as it says I'm connected and a box comes up saying I'm now supposedly able to do some things when I log in.
