It was released on the 11th of April so has taken avast 10 days to discover the update which isn't very prompt is it :-\ that's a worrying time frame when it come's to discovering new flash and java releases.

Hi craigb,

That is not true. The English version was flagged as outdated by avast updater right away. I just had to wait that period for the Dutch version coming available with that update. So nothing to do with the avast update more with the VLC Media Player coders and translators being slow to release...

Hi craigb,

Learnt this from website software updates as well. Version in other languages can come overdue or not at all (known issue from the Brazilian and Indonesian theater). That is why such countries with the outdated and vulnerable software mean a land of plenty for the malcreants/hackers. It would be better that everyone was on English/American English (global) versions. That would be far and far more secure... (but cannot be realized unsder all circumstances alas)

True but even with English being the wider spoken language on the globe I don't think the rest are going to convert anytime soon, heck! many French Canadians refuse to acknowledge the English language of the country they reside in ::)
