You can find:

We are planning an external beta testing in United States and would be very happy if you’d be willing to participate - more information on this to come here in June by Will Butler, the Avast Omni Product Director.

Thanks Martin.
I love the video on this new product, https://youtu.be/1UJFnSlC9WY (https://youtu.be/1UJFnSlC9WY)
Is Avast OMNI the new name (replacement) for Avast Smart Home Security?
I am certainly interested in testing and promoting this new Avast security enhancement.

Very interesting. Excellent approach. :)
Have been concerned about Smart Home products and their inherent Security Risk!

Hi SpeedyPC,

We are certainly planning on making Avast Omni available in Australia, but exactly when we will do so is is not yet confirmed, although we expect to release in Australia sometime next year. We will keep you updated when we have a scheduled release date!

Hi PAID,

I'm afraid that we don't yet have any plans to provide devices to Avast partners.

Understood BWhit and thank you for your honest reply, I'm looking forward to getting Avast Omni soon and is a great idea to protect the whole family.

Look like good, but I work remotely and often need to connect to a working VPN. Will Avast Omni work in RSA-1024 networks?

Hi George,

Avast Omni will not cause any compatibility issues which might prevent you from connecting to a VPN. However, Avast Omni will not "work" with RSA-1024 networks in the sense that it will not be able to scan your encrypted communications with the RSA-1024 network.

Avast just announced " New beta version 19.8.2390 (build 19.8.4746) is released."
When will Omni be updated since it's a beta version?

Hi,
same, you should be able to update within the app.

Hi,
same, you should be able to update within the app.
I've done that without any luck. I'm told the program is up to date.

I just noticed that Omni is no longer marked a Beta.
As such, doesn't have any further update. :)

Really? It's out of beta? :o

That's disappointing...

Why disappointing?

Nothing I've reported has been fixed. What's the point of beta testing if the tester's input isn't addressed? Was this really a beta test, or just a stress test? (Adding users with the express purpose of evaluating their cloud performance, not so much looking for any input from their testing pool...)

Omni negatively affects my network. I was willing to put up with it in the interests of beta testing to improve the product, but if this is considered expected behavior by Avast, as far as I'm concerned, the Omni is just a shiny paperweight.

It's crashed my OS more than any software I've tested. Software crashes are quite common in beta testing, but In my experience, crashing the OS is rare, because usually the alpha stage has dealt with the OS crashes.

I've participated in countless alpha and beta tests on various software and products over the years. I've been a mod on the Comodo forums for years, and the mods always test alpha/beta builds. I've even had software developers send me expensive third-party hardware to test new versions of their software for this new hardware because I gave them good beta feedback. And I have to say that this has been the most bizarre 'beta test' that I've ever participated in...

I'm sorry that this reads a bit like a humble brag, because that isn't my intention. I'm not saying that I'm a fantastic beta tester, or even the most knowledgeable. I just seem to have a knack of doing things the developer never intended. I think I know just enough to be dangerous.  ;D
