Did you check to see if your firewall was blocking anything from Avast? By uninstalling Avast and doing a clean install, it should fix the firewall problem. BTW, what is your firewall? What other security software are you using?
It sometimes happens with 3rd party firewalls - they detect that the files (such as AvastSvc.exe) have been updated, but it happens rather soon during the boot process and the firewall is unable to ask the users what to do about it - so it starts blocking.I suggest to remove the corresponding rules from OA and let them be re-created.

In this case OA seemed to display Avastsvc.exe as trusted leading to some confusion... Thanks mate for the help .PS Can I boldly try out 1456?? Has it stabilised??
