How can the system or avast install into a folder that the system does NOT have access to?
Without running attrib on the folder that is....
Because avast is not using the ATTRIBs to protect the folder/files but a method that is much more sophisticated.

not sure why you have to keep denying the fact that I and others have seen this stuff come in without asking permission.
As has been explained many times (including by avast members) the fact is that you gave permission.

I did NOT give permission to install any kind of price anything as I NEVER would do that since the affiliates that make the actual sales of the product deserve the affiliate commission, not have some sort of price popup....kinda reminds me of the old Gator days....

I also do not understand how Avast can over-ride folder permissions set by Windows Security on an NTFS Volume when ALL users including the system do not have access to said folder.

Go to your Browser ad-ons and remove the extension from there.

Good info.  I'm surprised you had to go to the OS repair console.  Didn't disabling avast's self defence module
allow access to the folder ?

No, it doesn't work disabling Avast protection (i don't know what is Avast self-defence module). I have no rights do delete the folder even in admin console. I tried to stop the Avast service also. No way...

To disable the avast defense module :

open the avast user interface/ settings (top right) / Troubleshooting / uncheck "enable avast self defense module"

I believe this would have allowed you to delete the safe price folder without having to boot up in the repair console.

I have unistall SafePrice deleting the folder and doing what davexnet said but I don't understand why there isn't an option in the modification interface like there is for the browser SafeZone and the web reputation extension.

Uncheck Enable Avast Self Protection Mode in Settings> Troubleshooting and allow the change.
Next go to C:\Program Files\AVAST Software\Avast and delete the SafePrice Folder.

@ bob3160
Pilatos25 isn't asking about the option to remove the SafeZone Browser, he is confirming that is there, so why NOT an option to remove Safe Price.

@ Pilatos25
The browser add-ons AOS, (previously known as Web Rep) and the Safe Price are cunningly obscure and are in the Browser protection option. Not to be confused with the real browser protection, the Web Shield.

Unfortunately uninstalling the Browser protection option removed both add-ons.

So If you unistall Avast Online Security you unistall SafePrice too?

Is that what you are saying?

Effectively yes as this Browser protection module incorporates both add-ons. If you had previously deleted the Safe Price folder and contents then it shouldn't be possible to install that add-on.

That said firefox would certainly ask you for permission to install the add-ons, if you don't give permission they shouldn't be installed on firefox. I can't speak on other browsers as firefox is my primary browser.

Wouldn't it be easier to just cut to the chase and turn off the browser protection which makes these add-ons available in the first place?
