Nope, mine didn't terminate. I also don't have any error entries in event viewer.
Web Shield service was running all the time, just connections were refused fo god knows what reason.

Hi,

I have some problem with Web Shield (4.6.684). I changed to Silent mode and got back to normal mode but Web Shield doesn't really get back to normal mode, it still keep on pushing the infected files into Virus chest and there's no abort connection dialogue when a virus is found.

Thanks.

That is the point of silent mode it will move to the chest without the alert dialogue (allowing for Abort Connection). So in that regard it is working as it should, the fact that you can't switch back to normal mode is the problem.
This may be related to others with a similar switching problem of switching between Manual and Automatic Update, I believe they were using XML as the database method and had to switch to database=ODBC to resolve/allow switching back.

- no chance to edit (double click / button "edit")
Workaround (not solution):
1. Test to space the two double clicks and it will work.
2. Some systems work with F2 to edit.

I've changed the way avast! using database from ODBC to XML and everything works fine, the abort connection dialogue comes back as it should be.  :)

Thanks.

I told in the other threat that you can edit it, if you make three fast click not two

Do you mean the autoupdate downloaded and installed 4.6.665 version over an existing 4.6.684 one?  ::)

That's weird, I just tried to check if there was a new program update and it told me I was up to date. If the original beta didn't change the flag to check for beta updates this may be the reason it looked for regular updates and not beta updates.

Occasionally there have times when the about avast and the version you actually have aren't in synch and a repair brought them into synch

I'm forced to go back to official build. This one has way to many bugs all over the place.
Exclusions are also totaly f. up,so its impossible to use it as you want.

This is the first time that the beta is not being 'corrected' and 'updated' so often... I mean, why to release a beta then?  ::) :P
