This according to the Windows Update check is an Optional update. I will have a read of this article and balance if I will download it yet, or wait and see if there are any hiccups reported by those updating..

Reminds me of the forum. We always hear from those few that have a problem but never from the majority that doesn't have any problems.

Agreed, and also for me with all the following of topics that interest me, I ponder on how folks can have so many problems with Avast products and their systems etc, while I'm not and haven't experienced most of them.

Google Just Gave Millions Of Users A Reason To Quit Windows 10
https://www.forbes.com/sites/gordonkelly/2020/04/26/google-chrome-critical-security-exploit-windows-10-upgrade-warning-update-chrome-browser/
Another sensationalized headline.

And one that had already been corrected at the time of writing, so why keep plugging away on old news.

Quote from: From another Forbes article
From reading this article it would appear MS has implemented a fix:
Quote from: Extract from article

This vulnerability was fixed in April 2020 as CVE-2020-0981.

https://portal.msrc.microsoft.com/en-us/security-guidance/advisory/CVE-2020-0981

As they say old news isn't news but muck raking.
If Forbes are suggesting abandoning windows 10 what the hell are they suggesting is the replacement.  For me that certainly isn't Google Chromebooks that would then truly be an OS.

But then again what the hell are Forbes talking about, Windows 10 (the desktop OS) isn't a mobile OS, so what is it trying/suggesting  get us to change.

For me their Headline bears no resemblance to the content, which appears to be about browsers under the win10 OS.  But if those browsers are running under win10, then they are/can be subject to OS vulnerabilities.

Dictation in Windows 10 is as easy as using the windows Key and H.

All the typing for this tutorial was done using the dictation built right into Windows 10.
The nice thing about using dictation is that if you get your thoughts together spell checking isn't a problem just make sure that it didn't miss understand what you said
