It doesn't ask you to restart, normally it just runs in the background. Since the stealing of focus was happening only once per session, it does not typically ask you to restart for fix to work. You will be able to observe the results of an update only after the next reboot though :)

You may check timestamps on Avast files, to check when they were modified: C:\Program Files\AVAST Software\Avast

i'm still having the issue too. i run the emergency updater manually with admin rights, it did *something* and I restarted. but it keeps minimising things :S

Hey guys,

I have just run a game for the first time after reinstalling Avast a couple days ago and currently DON'T have this issue anymore...
Game Mode is not installed. Only have The core shields such as Web, File and Mail on.

I have attached my log, as I didn't previously, hopefully it will help.
