avast iso is unbootable
« on: August 31, 2023, 12:13:32 AM »
The avast rescue iso and usb recovery drive is not bootable it failed to create a bootable usb and using the iso with rufus doesn't work as well. This feature is the main reson why I pick avast over other antivirus companies and now this doesn't work, how lame.

Thanks for your reply. You have the dubious task of  taking up for avast intentional destruction of their rescue iso and usb creation. There is no way that they are not aware of the status of their tools. I've tested the iso and usb with many other software tools to see if the iso is any good  and usb and they failed every test. unebootin, balena etcher, rufus, mobalive cd, qemu simple boot, and image usb , imgburn says iso is bootable but the other software says it's not .Avast needs to totally remove the current rescue iso  and usb creation and replace it with a functional one, and apologize to their customers . This is crap

I appreciate your sincere effort to help. Avast should pay you anyway for responding to the publics out cry of their dyfunctional rescuedisk . Imgburn and magiciso maker reports the iso is bootable the usb tests all failed  whether I use rufus , balena etcher, ventyoy  and etc... to make the usb bootable. Their own usb creation tool failed to make usb boobtable. Avast can and should fix this speedily they would only profit more by doing so.

Thanks for your reply Ognjen3 Iwill explain my finding regarding the glitch that's keeping the rescue disk from performing properly it's all about the iso is flawed according to the many tests I TRIED while investigating and analyzing the problem. If team support respond back to me I believe we will fix this situation because I don't quit until we have success.

I can't believe what I've just done . Give God the glory through daily persistence I stumble acrossed a way to run the rescue usb without the help from avast techs. Go into windows recovery mode and select change startup mode and select safe mode with networking put, the rescue usb into the computer and left click on the drive, when the drive open up click on rescue and you will then select aswpeshell.exe. Click on that and the rescue interface opens up and it shows that you can run the scan , I ran the scan twice, amazing. I will find the way how to take screen shots in safe mode so you can see more clearly what I am trying to explain. I will be 70 years old in two months and  through hard work and persistence I stumble across this temporary fix and I am not a computer tech. Give God the glory .Amen

Hello Bob this is a desktop no camera and in safe mode no screen shots are available. I took some screen shots in normal mode but do not know how to up load them on this forum, no not yet. Here is so more clearer steps to how to get the rescue usb to run  in recovery safe mode.Windows 10  go to settings ,update & security, recovery, trouble shoot, advance options, startup settings, safemode with networking, log back in, once safe mode opens up then put the usb rescue in the usb port. Double left click the rescue disk scroll  down until youu see rescue. click on that then click on the ASWPESHELL.EXE and the avast recovery interface opens up giving you the optons to run the drive. Click on the left logo to run the commands. This is working for me because I was getting ntoskrnl.exe failure  error 0xc000a004. I hope this helps others until the avast techs makes the proper adjustments.BTW please feel free to send  me info on  how to upload screen shot pictures on this forums . THANKS FORUM.

Hello Bob this is a desktop no camera and in safe mode no screen shots are available.
I also have a desktop but, I also have a phone that has a camera and I also have several
digital cameras all of these are capable of taking a photo of the screen when it's in Safe Mode or,
any other mode.
It's the old way of taking a "screen shot". Have a nice day. :)

Thanks for the info I will most definitely take that  knowledge and put it into practice. One more request is if you or anyone else will help assist me in uploading these files to this forum. I don't see how to upload files on this forum, but is willing to learn. Thanks forum.
