I have the updated app and almost everything is ticked the only thing that is not ticked is pin protection. Even writing and reading files scan is on. Hmmmmm am I lucky or unlucky?  :)

I think that it shouldn't change for people who explicitely changed any of the settings at any time :) So if you played with the File Shield, it will remain set up as you had before.

Thanks Filip I am one of the people effected by the high CPU/battery usage but I would still prefer to keep them all ticked. My thinking is batteries are cheaper to buy then replacing a virus bricked phone.

Battery drain on my Galaxy Nexus had nothing to do with avast!.
It cleared up once google updated to version 4.2 and has been great ever since.
Current Android version is 4.2.1

I am pleased your phone is not effected but sadly that does not mean that other versions of android or phone manufacturers are not. I am only posting this because your post directly follows mine and you seem to imply that battery drain is solely or mostly dependent on what version of android you run but of course it's not as simple as that. I am running gingerbread 2.3.5. which is not great but it's battery management as a whole is quite good.

For me, the battery drain was dependent on the version of android that was running.
Before the update to 4.1 happened, I was down to 3 1/2 hour of phone usage.
Now I can go more than 24 hrs before a charge is required.

@David,
You must get better update service in your country. :)

That's quite a big jump! Still I am sure you are pleased with the extra battery life.

If you're referring to extra battery life due to the latest avast! update, there isn't any.
I've restored the unchecked protection which is what I installed the program for in the first place and,
for me, avast! was never the cause of a short battery life.

No I was referring to your android update.  AMS updates for me are very much suck em and see as some are worse for battery life then others which I assume is caused by the processor load being too high. (600mhz processor top of the range!)  ;D

Thanks. There are a lot of "bad" news and alerts here in Brasil regarding to OBAD.
